Guillem Cunill holds a Bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting (2017) and a Master’s degree in Translation Studies (2019) from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona), the same university where he is, since 2019, a PhD candidate in the Translation and Language Sciences programme. He is a DTCL scholarship holder, a training programme for academic staff provided by the Department of Translation and Language Sciences, and he teaches subjects related to Standard Catalan, and compared grammar between Catalan and Spanish. His research interests are focused on the study of Catalan literature and reception of Catalan literary translations in the 20th century. His PhD thesis, advised by Dr. Marta Marfany and Dr. Marcel Ortín, is focused on the Josep Maria de Sagarra’s translation of Dante’s Divine commedy. He combines teaching and research with audio-visual translation (he translates mostly for film festivals, and he also have worked as a deaf live subtitler for the Catalan television channel), and also with editing and literary translation.
